Howdy. Back on the bikes again. Left UB yesterday and the traffic was actually not too bad out of the city. Most likely because of the Naadam festival that goes on now. But the roads were horrible. Everything calmed down and the roads got better after we had been riding for about 45 minutes. Fun but still abit frustrating, as soon as we stop to drink some water or just stretch our legs we get surrounded by people that wants to take pics, sit on the bikes or check out every technical detail there are on the bikes. Always very happy and friendly but extremely interested in us and the bikes. And it´s not only ordinary people doing this. The police too. Eva and I stopped at this place for lunch yesterday and as we sat inside this little small restaurant we could see 6 or 7 mongolian motorcycle police officers walk up to our bikes, climbed on them, tried to open my tank bag and one of them took my gloves (I always leave everything on my bike) and put them on his own hands. Eva got really mad, walked out of the restaurant and gave them a lesson that they´ll not very soon forget! She pulled my glove off the hands from the police that had tried them on, yelled at them and told them in a angry tone that this was indeed not a accepted behavior. I don´t think that they expected a rather tall swedish biker girl to come out and give them shit and they backed away saying: “Sorry, sorry, sorry…..” and all 6 or 7 of them went to hide behind the small restaurant building. And they stayed there until we had left some 30 minutes later. I and everyone in the restaurant laughed our arses off when we saw this through the window and Eva got big smiles and laughs from everyone when she got back inside again…..! Doesn’t seem like people yell at the police here very often. Good fun! 😉

Otherwise it was a very fine day on the bikes. Decent roads and beautiful views for most of the days. Very straight roads….. 🙂

We stayed the night at a ger camp last night. Beautiful place.

Our ger, the bikes and the beautiful rocks behind…..

Animals are always fun and another animal that they have here is that jak. Mongolian cows….. Fantastic animals that I´ve not even seen on a zoo in Sweden.

Another curious creature that we laughed at several times today was goats……

We have plenty of goats back home in old Sweden too but people most often don´t lets them climb on top of their cars….. 🙂

Eva carrying a BIG bird! Don´t know if it´s an eagle or a big falcon but it was heavy.

Grand thing indeed.

Eva talking with a girl that worked at one of the stands outside the monastery in Kharkhorin. She too works as a school teacher usually.

Eva and I out in the middle of nowhere.

Fantastic views. More so in real than in a pic…..

We´ve stayed in Tsetserleg for the night. We´ll try to reach the White Lake tomorrow. More later!

Cheers!//Jan
